Installed stone is not the same as fabrication dust<\/h2>\n

Respirable crystalline silica is a major occupational hazard during dry cutting, grinding and polishing of silica-containing materials. Once installed and undisturbed, a stone surface does not create the same exposure.<\/p>\n

Control dust at source with wet methods or effective extraction, isolation, respiratory protection and legal exposure management.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Adhesives, sealants and VOCs<\/h2>\n

Natural stone itself is mineral, but adhesives, resins, sealants, coatings and cleaners can emit volatile compounds. Select products with appropriate emissions documentation and follow curing and ventilation instructions.<\/p>\n

Radon and building context<\/h2>\n
