Do you work with English-speaking clients?
Yes. We can advise you in English from the first material discussion through slab approval, fabrication and delivery. We regularly work with homeowners, architects, interior designers, contractors and developers, including teams based outside France.
Can you help if I live abroad but my project is in France?
Yes. We can organise calls and video meetings, share photographs or videos of samples and slabs, and coordinate approvals with your local architect, contractor or nominated representative. For suitable projects, we can also provide progress updates in English and plan deliveries around the site programme.
Which stones can Marbre Import supply?
Our sourcing network covers marble, limestone, travertine, granite, quartzite, onyx and other natural stones from established quarries and factories. Availability varies because every quarry block and slab is unique. We recommend materials according to the intended use, visual direction, finish, technical constraints, quantity, budget and timetable.
Can I see samples or approve the actual slabs?
Yes, depending on the material and scope. A small sample is useful for colour and finish but cannot represent the full movement of a large slab. For strongly veined marble, onyx and expressive quartzite, photographs, videos or physical slab approval may be more appropriate. Natural variation, veins, fossils, pores and tonal changes are part of the character of genuine stone.
Do you provide bespoke fabrication?
Yes. We can organise cutting and finishing for tiles, wall panels, floors, staircases, fireplaces, vanity tops, kitchen worktops, furniture elements and other made-to-measure applications. Accurate final dimensions, approved drawings and clear details for edges, openings, joints and finishes are essential before fabrication begins.
Can you supply only, or also coordinate installation?
Both options are possible depending on the project and location. Some clients require material supply and delivery only; others need specialist fabrication and installation coordination. The quotation will clearly state the included scope. General building works, preparation by other trades and work outside the stone package are not included unless expressly agreed.
Can you manage the complete marble package for a high-end project?
For selected high-end residential and hospitality projects, Marbre Import can oversee the complete marble and natural-stone package. This can include sourcing, samples and slab approval, technical preparation, fabrication follow-up, quality checks, logistics and coordination with specialist installers. Our role remains limited to the stonework package and does not replace the architect, main contractor, project manager or other trades.
How is delivery organised?
Delivery is planned according to the destination, access, package size and weight, unloading method and site timetable. The agreed service may end at an accessible kerbside or unloading point. Crane handling, restricted-access vehicles, internal distribution, storage and specialist lifting must be discussed in advance. Read our delivery guidance before the shipment arrives.
What should I check when the stone is delivered?
Have an authorised person present, count the packages and inspect crates and visible pieces before signing the carrier’s delivery note. Record any visible damage precisely, identify the relevant crate or pieces, and take photographs before materials are moved. A general note such as “subject to unpacking” may not be sufficient for a transport claim. Follow the instructions and time limits in your order and delivery documents.
How long does a natural-stone order take?
Lead times depend on material availability, quarry or factory location, approval stages, fabrication complexity, quantity, transport and the season. The schedule begins only once the specification, drawings, price and required approvals are confirmed. Tell us about fixed site dates at the start so we can assess feasibility and identify decisions that could affect the programme.
How is a quotation prepared?
We need the project location, intended use, dimensions or drawings, quantities, preferred stone and finish, target timetable and required services. Transport, unloading, taxes, installation and other project-specific items are included or excluded as applicable. Small quantities can be disproportionately affected by crating and transport costs, so we may suggest a stock format or alternative solution.
How should marble and natural stone be maintained?
Maintenance depends on the stone and finish. Use products that are suitable for natural stone and avoid acidic or aggressive cleaners unless a stone specialist confirms compatibility. Some materials and applications benefit from an appropriate impregnating sealer. Spills should be treated promptly, and care instructions should reflect the actual material, finish and use rather than a generic rule for all stone.
