Industrial Stone Processing and Slurry Management
Manage water, slurry, fines and offcuts from stone processing through separation, recycling, safe handling, characterisation and responsible outlets.
Where slurry comes from
Sawing, grinding, calibration and polishing use water to cool tools and control dust. The water carries fine mineral particles, abrasive residue and sometimes treatment chemicals.
Separate clean storm water, process water and contaminated streams at source.
Closed-loop water systems
Settling tanks, hydrocyclones, clarifiers and filter presses recover water and concentrate solids. Stable flow and monitoring improve both machining and treatment efficiency.
Recycled water quality must remain compatible with the finish and equipment.
Characterising the solids
Slurry composition changes with marble, granite, quartzite, resin, mesh and workshop products. Do not assume all dried cake is inert or suitable for the same outlet.
Analyse according to local waste and reuse requirements.

Prevention and valorisation
Improve cutting yield, segregate materials and plan offcut products before seeking a disposal route. Some clean fines may enter cement, ceramics or other mineral processes when technically and legally accepted.
A laboratory possibility is not automatically a viable industrial market; volume, consistency and transport matter.
Worker and environmental protection
Wet slurry reduces airborne dust but dried deposits can release respirable particles. Use containment, housekeeping and suitable protective measures.
Keep manifests, analyses and maintenance records. Regulations follow the production site and receiving outlet.
