France: Concrete, Screeds and Heated Floors Beneath Natural Stone
Coordinate French requirements for concrete, traditional and flowing screeds, heated floors, residual moisture, commissioning and stone installation.
Identify the exact support
Concrete slabs, cement screeds, calcium sulphate screeds and heated build-ups follow different French documents and manufacturer requirements. Record type, age and construction.
Do not use a generic drying time as proof of readiness.
Moisture, strength and flatness
Measure residual moisture with the method required for the screed and system. Check cohesion, cracks, joints and surface laitance.
Large-format stone may require tighter flatness than the structural support naturally provides.
Underfloor heating
The heating installer and floor contractor must coordinate curing, pressure tests, heating-up and cooling-down cycles. Retain the commissioning record.
Stone layout, movement joints and heating zones should be coordinated before cutting.

Stone and setting products
Select adhesives or mortar for support, heating, format and stone sensitivity. Backing mesh, resin and translucent stone require specific review.
Allow full cure before restarting heating, then raise temperature gradually.
