Classic Mix Travertine
Travertine has been used in architecture since antiquity, with Rome’s Colosseum among the best-known examples of its enduring performance.
Travertine is a distinctive natural stone often grouped commercially with limestone and marble, although it forms through a different geological process.
Its characteristic texture results from mineral deposition around thermal or mineral springs.
Travertine is characterised by open pores created as carbon dioxide escapes during formation.
It forms when calcium carbonate precipitates around warm-water springs. The resulting pores may be left open or filled with resin or cement according to the finish and intended use.
Its layered structure records seasonal mineral deposition and may include fossil traces.
Travertine is suitable for interior and selected exterior applications, subject to the lot, finish, climate and installation system.
Vein-cut and cross-cut slabs offer two very different visual expressions from the same block.
Ce travertin classic Mixte est, comme le Classic Light Travertine, is quarried in Turkey.
Unlike the paler Classic Light selection, Classic Mix combines cream, beige and warmer brown tones.
It is valued for its warmth, tactile surface and authentic aged character.
Filling the pores with colour-matched or contrasting resin or cement allows the finish to be tailored to each design.
