Rosso Levanto Marble: origin and appearance
Rosso Levanto Marble (also known as Rosso Levanto) is an instantly recognisable Italian marble. Its colour ranges from very deep burgundy to blood red with a slightly purplish cast, crossed by white veining of varying length. Depending on the block, the pattern may be directional or more brecciated, allowing the stone to suit settings ranging from reinterpreted classical interiors to contemporary luxury minimalism.
This marble is prized for its depth. A polished finish intensifies the red to an almost velvet-like tone, while the white calcite veining gains luminosity—ideal for fireplaces, statement walls, vanity tops and islands.
Alternative names: Rosso Levanto, Rouge Levanto and Levanto Red Marble.
Unlike Rosso Lepanto Marble, Rosso Levanto Marble often includes subtle green serpentine veins or traces alongside its white veining. These nuances enrich its depth and are one of the clearest visual distinctions between the two marbles.
Within the red-marble family, Rosso Levanto is sometimes compared with Red Alicante Marble, its Spanish counterpart. Both are richly coloured and veined, but Levanto generally has a darker, deeper appearance and a more dramatic contrast, while Alicante tends towards a warmer and more sunlit red.
Marbre Import services
Rosso Levanto Marble is available as tiles and large slabs. Where visual harmony is essential—such as shower walls, fireplaces or monolithic islands—we prioritise slabs from the same block to maintain background consistency and a controlled veining rhythm. For high-end projects, Marbre Import can also coordinate the complete stonework package on the client’s behalf.

How should the actual stone lot be approved?
Approval should consider the available lot, colour, veining, format, finish, thickness and intended application. Marbre Import can support selection with slab photographs, samples and technical data.
Can this stone be used in kitchens and bathrooms?
Suitability depends on the stone, finish, treatment, expected maintenance and exposure to staining or acidic products. Technical guidance is recommended before ordering.
Why is pricing provided on request?
Pricing varies with the lot, origin, availability, thickness, finish, quantities, fabrication and transport. A tailored quotation reflects the actual project rather than a theoretical list price.
