Alpinus Quartzite: origin and appearance
Alpinus is a quartzite from Brazil, much like its relative Patagonia, valued for its luminous elegance and naturally luxurious character. Its palette combines off-white, creamy beige and golden tones, animated by stronger movements of soft brown and warm grey depending on the slab, creating a refined contemporary surface.
Rich in quartz, Alpinus contains crystalline areas that catch the light and create subtle visual depth. Some blocks may offer limited translucency, opening up possibilities for integrated lighting. When appropriate, carefully engineered backlighting creates a soft, sophisticated effect for luxury hospitality and high-end interiors.
Characteristics and applications of Alpinus Quartzite
Every Alpinus slab is unique, yet the stone generally has a harmonious and continuous movement, making it well suited to large surfaces while maintaining visual coherence.
Alpinus Quartzite is a highly resistant natural stone suited to a wide range of interior applications:
- kitchen worktops and islands,
- vanity tops and bathroom cladding,
- large-format wall cladding,
- decorative panels for feature walls, entrances, media walls and bars.
Where the selected lot offers sufficient translucency, Alpinus can be used for backlit wall cladding or decorative panels with integrated lighting. The result is softer than with highly contrasted translucent stones: an enveloping light that reveals the crystalline structure without overpowering the interior.
The most common finish is polished, maximising luminosity and highlighting the crystals. Alpinus may also be honed, sandblasted, bush-hammered, aged, or given another finish suited to the design and application.
