Botticino Semi-Classico Marble: description

Origin and appearance of Botticino Semi-Classico Marble

Botticino Semi-Classico is a compact decorative limestone from the Botticino quarrying area near Brescia in northern Italy. Commercially sold as marble, it formed during the Early Jurassic (Lias).

Its pale beige background is crossed by fine pinkish to light-grey veins, giving it a distinctly Italian character compared with Spanish cream stones such as Crema Marfil Standard Marble.

Subtle tonal variations are natural, even within a single lot. They give the finished surface depth and should be considered when approving slabs and planning the layout.

Characteristics and applications

Alongside classic Carrara stones, Botticino is one of the best-known Italian beige materials specified internationally. It is often considered alongside Premium Crema Marfil Marble.

Its compact structure makes it suitable for a broad range of interior applications. Exterior use must be assessed against the selected lot, finish, climate and relevant technical data.

It can be specified for floors, walls, stairs, bathrooms and other busy interior areas, subject to the appropriate finish, installation system and maintenance plan.

Its restrained beige tone is particularly effective in hotel lobbies, reception areas, retail environments and large architectural interiors.

Botticino Semi-Classico combines a refined appearance with strong performance and good value. Thin formats may be available for suitable applications, but thickness and fabrication feasibility must always be confirmed for the actual lot and project.
