About Bateig Blue Limestone
Origin and appearance
Bateig Blue is a fine-grained blue-grey limestone quarried in southern Spain. Geologically it is a biocalcarénite qui date de la période Crétacé.
It is marketed internationally as Bateig Blue or Bateig Azul.
Its consistent colour and architectural performance make it a recognised façade stone. Freeze-thaw suitability must be confirmed for the selected lot and installation system.
Polished or honed finishes suit interior floors and walls, while textured slip-resistant finishes may be considered for terraces and pool surrounds after technical validation.
Applications and specification
Bateig Blue is used in heritage restoration and contemporary façade cladding, as well as interior architectural applications.
Its key visual quality is a soft, uniform anthracite-grey colour with a restrained blue undertone.
Architects and designers value its understated appearance for both interiors and technically validated exterior schemes.
For terraces, the selected thickness, textured finish, substrate, drainage and climate must be coordinated with project requirements.
