Sierra Elvira Marble
Origin and appearance of Sierra Elvira Marble
Sierra Elvira is a dense Spanish limestone commercially specified within the marble family.
It is also marketed as Grey Venise or Grey Sierra Elvira.
Quarried near Granada, Spain, it is a hard-wearing stone well suited to high-traffic areas.
Its consistent colour ranges from cool grey to grey-beige depending on the finish.
Some lots display fine white calcite veins or stylolitic markings in yellow, beige or green, adding subtle movement and luminosity.
Characteristics and uses of Sierra Elvira Marble
It can be specified indoors with polished or honed finishes and outdoors with aged, flamed, brushed or sandblasted surfaces, subject to technical approval.
Its colour consistency makes it suitable for large-scale, high-traffic projects such as transport hubs, commercial buildings and hospitality interiors.
Selected lots can be used for terraces and façades where the finish, climate and installation system have been approved.
An aged finish provides a tactile surface well suited to wet areas, subject to the required slip-resistance testing.
Marbre Import selects consistent lots for large projects and coordinates colour and veining approval before fabrication.
