Carrara C Marble
Origin and appearance of Carrara C Marble
Carrara C is one of the whitest Italian Carrara selections; its greyer counterpart is Carrara CD Marble.
Its fine crystalline structure is crossed by delicate grey to charcoal veining, with density varying by block and slab.
This marble was formed during the Jurassic period and belongs to the geological history of the Apuan Alps.
Carrara marble has been worked since antiquity for functional, decorative and commemorative objects.
Large-scale quarrying expanded under Roman rule, when Carrara marble was used for major public buildings and sculpture.
Its luminous white ground and restrained veining make it an enduring architectural classic.
Marbre Import selects lots from the same block to achieve consistent colour and veining across the project.
Characteristics and uses of Carrara C Marble
Carrara C is a reliable, refined white marble for demanding interior projects.
It is ideal for clients seeking a bright, lightly veined surface, compared with the more expressive Carrara Venatino Marble or other Carrara varieties such as Statuario Marble and Arabescato.
It is suitable for floors, walls, staircases, benches, tables, bars and bespoke stonework. Exterior use should be assessed according to the lot, finish, climate and installation system.
Its structure can allow thin-format fabrication, subject to dimensions, reinforcement and technical approval.
