Portuguese Pink Marble: origin and appearance
Portuguese Pink Marble has a soft pink-white ground ranging from pale blush to deeper rose, with pink, beige and occasional blue-grey veining that varies across the quarry area.
As its name suggests, the marble comes from Portugal and is quarried in the same region as Vigaria Polar Marble, west of Lisbon.
Common finishes include polished and honed for interiors, plus sawn or textured finishes for selected exterior applications.
The colour ranges from pale to deeper pink. Marbre Import can select the appropriate tone and lot according to the project brief.
As with Vigaria Polar Marble, slabs and tiles are visually selected to achieve the required tonal consistency.
